9 PLANNING STEPS - STEP 5
Identify Stakeholders and Build Partnerships
Reasons to involve a wider audience is that diverse concerns can be worked into group solutions when they are understood early-on. Listening to, understanding, and addressing concerns can prevent a plan or project from being blocked at the end of the process by people who oppose the solutions and have not been a part of the planning process.

Ways To Involve Youth |
Considerations |
Parents, youth, university professors, land managers, wildlife agencies, media representatives, and elected officials are all engaged in creating a “BioBlitz” – a scientific field study of a local natural area. |
Ask youth who else should be involved.
|
Who are the end users? Who can help implement? Who is doing similar work that could be a partner or example? Who might be opposed the project? Identify the key players without whose support the project cannot happen. |
